Spurs 2010-2011, A Champion Year or Stars in Making (Transition)Year!

The Games haven't started yet. But It seems this year will lead Spurs on something, I would say a champion year, if we count odd years as Spurs magical years: 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007.

As for the arguments:
The Three Kings (Duncan, Parker, and My Man Manu) maybe aged and had physical-injury problems during season 09-10, but they haven't lost their touches. The Three Kings lead us to another more than 50 wins to clinch the playoff spot and  only bested with another outstanding old-man: Steve Nash!!!

DeJuan Blair definitely last year steal draft and a great addition in our front court forces, and last season was the rise for George Hill.

The Signing of Tiago Splitter would either give us a new Duncan, or a new Twin Tower Era past Robinson-Duncan, or at the very least, taking minutes from aged Duncan so we can put him on a show for important games. Tiago was the MVP for ACB (spanish league playoff series, and he outbested Navaro and Ricky Rubio in the finals). He might have this year as his game translation from Europe to NBA, but SA is the best team for European based players to do so. Check out the list: Parker, Manu, Luis Scola, Goran Dragic (sedihnya di Phoenix anak ini yang bikin kita kalah juga, karena jadi back up yang 'menyebalkan' buat Steve Nash) etc. And the good news is the way Tiago plays is fitted with Greg Popovich team play. He does pick and role nicely.

Spurs always gets lucky on draft days. This year we might again have another steal draft from the 20th drafted player, James Anderson. A Shooting guard/small forward. You have to check his resume. He is counted as one of the best shooter of the class. Thanks to his injury during the try outs he slipped to 20th for the Spurs to snatch him out.

Now, let ses, we have Tiago Splitter for Tim Duncan, George Hill for Tony Parker, and potentially James Anderson for Manu Ginobili! We still have the big sexy monster Dajuan Blair.

I am not over yet! Yes we re-contract Matt Bonner. He was one of the best effort giving players during last year campaign. He might not a tough man in his Forward Center position but his 3-points shooting gives Pop more options, and to stretch opponents defence in order to open some pick on role plays. Other important role player is Antonio McDyess, he is old, but very important to take some minutes and give examples to Tiago and Blair. The addition of Alonzo Gee give us a deep on back court. Now you see, the roster this year is very balance, we have both deep front court and back court forces.

The only missing chip is Bruce Bowen type of player. A lock down defender who could isolate superstars like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony etc. We cannot let Manu doing both job defending and firing opponents all the time, it would hurt us. So this spot is something that the management has to deal with to make us becoming a potential champion team. Lakers have Ron Artest to do the job remember?

I will say the Lakers is the only team with better roster in the west this year. I don't say that Mavs and Suns won't give any harm on us, but based on roster to roster comparison, Lakers is the only team above us in the west.

If we manage to beat Lakers, sadly this year and maybe for the next five years we'll have to face Miami Heat (perusak kompetisi secara legal, I'll put every kind of jinxes on this team), and if we can't get an isolator defender,  we won't even pass Lakers.

The good news is, even if we failed to win the playoff, we have the perfect players to start a long term future champion team. A New Three Kings in the making while the Old Three Kings guide them to their raise, and in Popovic's hands the dream is on.
